Rename to Pacific Challenge? edit

If World Rugby has decided to rename the tournament the World Rugby Pacific Challenge (As per here World Rugby tournaments), should this page, and the competition page, not be renamed 2015 World Rugby Pacific Challenge, or at the very least 2015 Pacific Challenge (excluding the year for the general page of course)? Though I notice there is a page with the same name about a rugby league tournament, which may confuse matters. HitmanStanners (talk) 23:47, 16 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Fair point. I agree with the World Rugby Pacific Challenge suggestion, allowing perhaps a short while for other commenters, should you wish to make the move. The main tournament page would probably need a ", formerly known as the IRB Pacific Rugby Cup," added to the leading sentence.

I think the pages for 2014 and earlier should remain with the old name. I had held off any change pending it being bedded in and usage confirmed (there doesn't seem to be a new updated logo yet either). -- Ham105 (talk) 13:14, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

I agree with what you have said, and changed the names for the junior tournaments (The Championship & Trophy) on a similar basis (added the used to be known as, and previous editions maintain old name).

I'm writing this on Tuesday, Feb 17th, I propose making the changes on Friday 20th, or Monday 23rd - pending comments from other editors? HitmanStanners (talk) 14:50, 17 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
