International Crisis Group criticisms edit

Highly criticized by the International Crisis Group for using an unmodified old Burmese government list of ethnic terms which was considered highly-objectionable by some of the groups involved, and for contributing to inter-ethnic frictions. According to the ICG, the international "partners" set up a situation where it was highly likely and foreseeable that the government would come under pressure to change "Rohingya" to "Bengali", yet when the moment came, the international groups seemed to be taken completely by surprise by the government's action...
