Code for ref section added. I'm afraid Youtube refs should not normally be used, because the video clips are almost inevitably breaches of copyright. If there is proof that the clips are being legally reproduced on Youtube, then they can stay. Cheers. 4u1e, 1 March 2007 11:18

Senna

I'm wondering how Senna could have won the championship at Adelaide. He had 60 points. With a win at Adelaide this would have been 69 - 7 less than Prost. Can anybody please explain? 194.138.127.36 16:42, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

McLaren had appealed against Senna's disqualification from the Japanese GP. If his Japanese GP victory had been reinstated and he'd won in Adelaide, he would have taken the Championship. DH85868993 05:09, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

The Wikipedia article for Adelaide says the appeal was already rejected. There's a Youtube clip from Adelaide that year where Murray Walker says the same thing. I'm going to correct this in this article. ColinClark (talk) 08:15, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

Upon checking (last time I was working from memory), that's correct. However McLaren were planning a civil challenge to Senna's disqualification from the Japanese GP in the French courts (source: Roebuck & Townsend's Grand Prix 1989). Constructors Championship

How many scores counted for the 1989 Constructors' Championship? Apparently the 1990 FIA Yearbook says that only the best 11 scores counted (as for the Drivers' Championship), giving McLaren a score of 129, but formula1.com, ChicaneF1 and FORIX (subscription site) all give McLaren a score of 141 points, implying that all results counted (which, incidentally, is also what it says at List of Formula One World Championship points scoring systems). Just about every source besides that FIA Yearbook gives McLaren 141 points and Williams 77 - plus I haven't seen any source that gives McLaren less than 199 points in 1988, or less than 121 (and Ferrari less than 110) in 1990. The 1990 FIA Yearbook (ie the "yellow book") shows McLaren's 1989 total points as 141 and its retained points as 129. The 1991 FIA Yearbook shows McLaren's 1990 total points as 121 and its retained points as 110. Unfortuneatly I don't have access to the 1989 FIA Yearbook. GTHO (talk) 22:22, 15 December 2012 (UTC)
