"Battle at" edit

@Minimax Regret: what vindication do you have for moving this article to a POV republican name that gives a form of grandeur to what was simply a shoot-out? I can find no references for any such "battle" taking place. Indeed it would be a stretch of the imagination to even call it a skirmish. Please provide reliable non-republican propaganda sources for such a title otherwise I will have tomopen a move request where you will have to provide some evidence. I admire your patience. The answer is none. This is a sub-VK level of PoV-pushing and a topic ban proposal would be in order if this sort of behaviour persists. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 13:59, 1 August 2017 (UTC)Reply
Agree with you on this one; few, if any, engagements between the IRA and the British security forces during the Troubles deserve the name of "battle", most of them were just small ambushes and shoot-outs.--Darius (talk) 23:03, 1 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Date edit

The article dates the incident to the 17th, yet Ken Wharton's Wasted Years Wasted Lives Volume 2 dates it to the 16th and says Hughes was found the day after. Is the article confusing the incident with the arrest?

Probably. Article was originally created as a POV piece with poor sourcing. If you can fix anything using a good source such as the one you mentioned above then please edit away. Mabuska (talk) 08:34, 13 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
