Talk:1960 Concepción earthquakes

Latest comment: 6 years ago by InternetArchiveBot in topic External links modified

Title etc. edit

I found this article very confusing and got no less confused once I started going through the cited sources, but after a lot of further searching around, some things became clear. The article is about a sequence of earthquakes and should be named that way, so I intend to move it to 1960 Concepción earthquakes. They were all foreshocks of the 1960 Valdivia earthquake. The first had a magnitude of 8.1 Mw (possibly 8.2) and the last was a slow earthquake with a magnitude of 7.9 Mw. It has been proposed that the sequence of foreshocks shows a roughly linear southwards progression towards the epicentre of the Valdivia 'quake. I'm still trying to assimilate all this new material, so it will be a while before I start a rewrite. Mikenorton (talk) 18:47, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
