Early lifeEdit

Born in Tokyo, Mizuno was raised in Somerset in England.[2] Her father is Japanese, and her mother is half-British, half-Argentine.[3] She attended the Royal Ballet School as a child,[1] and graduated from the Royal Ballet School before working for several ballet companies including Semperoper Ballet in Dresden,[4] Ballet Ireland, New English Ballet Theatre and Scottish Ballet.[1][2]

CareerEdit

She began modeling at age 20 due to frustrations with her ballet career[1] and has modeled for Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton.[2] During 2014 Mizuno appeared in Arthur Pita's work of dance theatre The World's Greatest Show at Greenwich Dance and the Royal Opera House.[4][5]

Mizuno made her movie debut in Alex Garland's critically acclaimed[6] science-fiction thriller Ex Machina, released in the UK in January 2015.[2] She also appeared in the dance film High Strung, directed by Michael Damian and released in 2016.[4] In 2016, she was also the feature dancer in the music video for "Wide Open" by the Chemical Brothers and Beck.[7]

In August 2016, she appeared in the music video for Frank Ocean's song "Nikes". Mizuno showed off her triple-threat talents in the award-winning[8] film La La Land (released in the UK in January 2017), playing the role of Caitlin, the roommate of Mia (Emma Stone).[9]

In 2017, joined the cast of the Warner Bros. film Crazy Rich Asians[10] starring Constance Wu and Michelle Yeoh.[11]
