Somesh Mathur is an Indian singer, composer, songwriter, and producer. With the widening of horizons of music, both in the East and the West, unconventional forms of music are fast gaining popularity. These explorations are bringing in new sounds in their wake and with each successive innovation, rise a few geniuses whose creativity shines out from amongst the masses.

Somesh Mathur {fondly called Panditji} has devoted his life to the discovery of new vistas in the field of music. An explorer by nature, he has experimented with different genres, creating a few moments of magic in his quest to enlarge the boundaries of conventional music.

It is for the first time that a Ghazal album has been on Top of the Charts. It is also hugely popular in Pakistan; Middle-East & Africa and has been licensed worldwide to be sold in main-stream music stores like Tower Records, Virgin Stores {Times Square, New York City, where the album was No. 1 on the WORLD MUSIC CHARTS}, EMI Stores, etc. Both the Videos from the album were in the Top 20 Countdown in three Main Stream Channels in the U.S. & CANADA and the album was even filed for a Grammy Nomination!!!

A Motorsports’ Fan {Specially Formula 1} and a Keen Golfer, his forays into mainstream music have created a number of inspirational works that have captured the imagination of millions.

The album is a compilation of CLASSIC GHAZALS rendered in the genre of lounge music, acknowledged to be a landmark by none other than the living legend, ASHA BHOSLE. The album has been a runaway hit, commanding the No.1 spot for over nine

weeks. The album also won the MTV Video Music Award in the BEST FEMALE POP Category, 2005.

Apart from album recordings, Somesh has also recorded, performed and produced the title music for several T.V. Commercials –Serials - Series. To name a few:

Mathur has so far released 12 Albums, and 16 Music Videos;[1] 'Ghalib', 'Jai Ganesha', 'Shiva Shlokas', & 'Radhai Ram Radhai Shyam'. He has composed over 200 songs belonging of a wide range of Genres, and performed over 1600 concerts worldwide.[2] He also received the MTV Video Music Award (2005–2006) for his Album, with Asha Bhosle,[3] Asha - A Brand New Album, for the song, "AAJ JAANE KI ZID NA KARO.
