Petru Soltan (29 June 1931 – 15 July 2016) was a Moldovan mathematician. He was a member of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova[2] and an honorary member of the Romanian Academy.[3] Petru Soltan was a member of the Mathematical Society of Moldova.[4]

Petru Soltan served as member of the Parliament of Moldova (1990–1994)[5] and is a leader of the Democratic Forum of Romanians in Moldova.[6]

He died on 15 July 2016 at the age of 86.[7]
