CareerEdit

[1][2]

Park Kyung-hoon was the first South Korean full-back who had the overlapping ability. He was nicknamed 'The progenitor of overlapping' in South Korea who often took part in attack by his rapid pace. He is regarded as one of the greatest South Korean right back of all time. K League federation selected him as the right back of the K League 30th Anniversary Legends Best XI in 2013.

Park was born in Suyu-dong, the slum of Seoul. He had liked art originally, but he changed his career path to be a footballer because of the monetary problem when he became a high school student.

Park spent his club career for Hanyang University and Pohang Steelworks, and he won three titles in the K League. He was selected the Most Valuable Player of the 1988 K League, but he thought Lee Kee-keun, his teammate, should deserved the award. He wanted to return the prize, but K League federation rejected this.

He won the 1986 Asian Games, and participated in the 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cup for the South Korea national team.

He announced his retirement and went to England for studying abroad in 1993. He played for Yeading FC, the English semi-professional club, for a time.
