North Kansas City Hospital is a 451-licensed-bed and 72-acre (29 ha) campus containing the hospital itself, Health Services Pavilion encompassing patient rooms, outpatient services, offices for Hospital staff, physician offices and a conference center. Health Center North is the location for Home Health Services and NorthCare Hospice. There are two physician office buildings that are known as Medical Plaza North and Professional Building North.
In 2012 the city of North Kansas City briefly searched for a buyer of the hospital, the hospital board sued to stop the sale stating the city didn't have the authority to sell the hospital. The matter was resolved in 2013 with the passing legislation (HB163) and the lawsuit was dropped.
