Niyarak (Persian: نيارك and Azerbaijani: Niyərik, Nəyərik), also Romanized as Nīyārak, Nīārak, Neyarak, Niaraki and Nīarīk,[3] is a village in, and the capital of, Niyarak Rural District of Tarom-e Sofla District, Qazvin County, Qazvin province, Iran.[4] The people of this village are Azerbaijani and speak Azerbaijani Turkish.[citation needed]

At the 2006 National Census, its population was 590 in 204 households.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 1,350 people in 461 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 1,860 people in 660 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2] Most of the families are still residing in the city of Qazvin but few of the main families have migrated to the northern province of Gilan.[citation needed]
