National Democratic Mass Organization

National Democratic Mass Organization (NDMO) is a collective term for sectoral mass organizations that subscribes to the national democratic principles and movement, led by the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), though are not officially affiliated with the party and its armed wing, the New People's Army (NPA).[1] Frequently red-tagged by the government and the military, NDMOs recognize armed struggle because of their belief that the "roots of poverty" such as imperialism, feudalism, and "bureaucrat capitalism" are still very much alive in the Philippines.[2]

Anakbayan, League of Filipino Students, Alliance of Concerned Teachers, Anakpawis, GABRIELA, and Kabataan Partylist are some of the major NDMOs in the country.[3]
