Natasha Hassanandani[3] (born 14 April 1981), professionally known as Anita Hassanandani, is an Indian actress who predominantly works in Hindi television serials.[3]

Early life edit

Hassanandani was born as Natasha Hassanandani, into a Sindhi Hindu family[4] in Bombay (now Mumbai) on 14 April 1981.[5][6]

Career edit

Hassanandani made her debut on television with Idhar Udhar Season 2.[7] She made her film debut in Telugu with Nuvvu Nenu in 2001, in Tamil with Samurai in 2002 although Varushamellam Vasantham released first. She made her Hindi film debut with the 2003 thriller Kucch To Hai. She later worked in the films Krishna Cottage, a supernatural thriller [8] and Koi Aap Sa.


She also starred in the television show Kkavyanjali, playing the protagonist Anjali, a middle-class girl marrying into a business tycoon's family. Later on she worked in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi as Saanchi, in Teri Meri Love Stories as Simran, in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya as Pari, in Yeh Hai Aashiqui as Priyanka, and in MTV 's supernatural show Fanaah series as Witch Preet in 1st season as well as Dr. Yamini in 2nd season. Other than her mainstream Bollywood film and television screen performances, she has also worked in some South Indian films, including Nenu Pelliki Ready, Thotti Gang, Ragada as Bank Employee and Nuvvu Nenu which later was remade as Yeh Dil in Hindi with Tusshar Kapoor. She appeared in a song in a Telugu film Nenunnanu. She also starred in Kannada film Veera Kannadiga opposite Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar.[citation needed]

Since 2013, she became famous from the role of Shagun Arora/Bhalla on the television show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. She was a wild card entry in season 8 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. From June 2018 to May 2019, she played a shape-shifting serpent named Vishakha a.k.a. Vish in Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 3.[9][10]

Further in July 2019 she went on to participate in the 9th season of dance reality show Nach Baliye with her husband Rohit Reddy and emerged as the first runner-up.[citation needed]

From January 2020, she reprised her role as Vishakha/Vish in Naagin: Bhagya Ka Zehreela Khel, the 4th season of the series. Anita also made special appearances in Naagin 5 premiere episodes and in Naagin 6 as a vamp naagin with Adaa Khan/Shesha, Sudha Chandran/Yamini (Seema) and Mehek Chahal. Since July 2023, Hassanandani has been playing Roshni in Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum.[11]

Hassanandani married corporate professional Rohit Reddy in Goa on 14 October 2013.[12] On 10 October 2020, she announced her pregnancy in an Instagram video featuring Reddy and herself.[13] The couple had their first child, a boy, on 9 February 2021.[14][15] They named their son as Aaravv Reddy.[16]
