Mishrikh is a city and a municipal board in Sitapur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The region came under Magadh Kingdom in ancient India. After the fall of the Nandas and the Mauryas, the region came under the power of the Shunga dynasty. Terracotta sculptures of Shunga style were found in nearby Sidhauli Tehsil. Similarly, some small idols of Gupta period were found in Badesar in Mishrik Tehsil. The holy place of Naimisharanya, situated on the left bank of the Gomti, is a pilgrimage site where Maharishi Ved Vyas composed the Puranas. During the post-Vedic period, it is believed that a vast university existed in the region where 88,000 Shastri rishis gathered knowledge.

As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Misrikh Neemsar had a population of 15,163. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Misrikh Neemsar has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 58%. In Misrikh Neemsar, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.
