In addition to these parks, the Metroparks encompass three bicycle trails:[3]

The Metroparks consist of over 10,000 acres (4,000 hectares) of land, which span a wide variety of land types. They also include over 4,000 acres (1,600 hectares) of the Oak Openings Region of Ohio, an area located along what used to be the western edge of Lake Erie.[citation needed]
