Founded by Carla Rapoport in 2012,[5] The Lumen Prize has staged 29 exhibitions in 10 cities around the world including Amsterdam, Athens, Hong Kong, New York, Riga, Swansea[6] and Shanghai.[citation needed]

Lumen has collaborated with the Computer Arts Society[7] and from 2016 the EVA London Conferences.[8]
