Hill was born in Wales. Her father is an army man, which led to her living in Cardiff, Germany, and Nottingham before her family settled in Derbyshire. When she was 15, she became a member of the Nottingham’s Talent 1st actors’ studio.
She lives in Derby with her family. Ruby in Three Girls was Hill's first professional acting role. She next won the role of Sarah in Jellyfish.
Hill received a British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Three Girls.
