Career

edit

Kerianne Flynn is a graduate of North Adams College. After graduating she served as a human resources professional in the fashion and beauty industry, including for French Connection, bebe, and divisions of The Limited including Limited Design and Victoria’s Secret Beauty. [1]

Kerianne serves on the board of RxArt (2008–present), the Art Advisory Board for the Coalition for the Homeless (2011–present), the Women’s Leadership Committee for The Children’s Health Fund (2015–present) and the Playground Committee for Friends of Hudson River Park (2015–present). Kerianne has been on the Board of Directors of City Winery since 2009.

Flynn received a producing credit (typically by providing financial support) on The Automatic Hate, a drama released in 2015 that explores family secrets and reconciliation.[2] She later co-produced This Changes Everything, a 2018 documentary examining gender inequality in Hollywood, which received critical acclaim for its insightful commentary and was narrated by prominent figures in the industry.[3] In 2024, Flynn produced Lilly, a film inspired by the life of fair pay advocate Lilly Ledbetter, further solidifying her reputation in independent cinema.[4]

She supports films focusing on socially relevant themes, showcasing her commitment to storytelling that challenges societal norms.[5]

She lives in a penthouse in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City with her husband Jim Flynn, and their son.

In 2011, she signed up to fly as a passenger on a Virgin Galactic spaceflight, expressing enthusiasm for the experience ahead of a planned launch in 2021.[6] Although her Virgin Galactic flight has not yet occurred, her passion for space travel culminated in her selection for Blue Origin’s New Shepard NS-31 mission. On February 27, 2025, Blue Origin announced that Flynn would join an all-female crew, including Katy Perry, Amanda Nguyen, Aisha Bowe, Gayle King, and Lauren Sánchez, for a suborbital flight, which took place on April 14, 2025, from Launch Site One in West Texas.[7][8] This mission, the eleventh human flight of the New Shepard program, is noted as the first all-female crew since Valentina Tereshkova’s solo flight in 1963.[9]

Flynn’s inclusion in the NS-31 flight was to support the mission’s goal to inspire future generations of women in space exploration.[10]
