Küplüceli Öznur was claimed to have been born in Üsküdar, and was claimed to initially have a passion for science, but to have later turned to poetry. Öznur was influenced by the poet Bâkî. She was also claimed to have while composing poetry, written calligraphy, including at one point a copy of the Quran.
