Juken Sentai Gekiranger

Juken Sentai Gekiranger (獣拳戦隊ゲキレンジャー, Jūken Sentai Gekirenjā, Beast-Fist Squadron Gekiranger) is Toei Company's thirty-first entry in the Super Sentai metaseries. Production began on September 29, 2006 with principal photography beginning on October 6, 2006. It aired on TV Asahi's 2007 Super Hero Time programming block with Kamen Rider Den-O from February 18, 2007 to February 10, 2008, replacing GoGo Sentai Boukenger and was replaced by Engine Sentai Go-onger.

Story

Four thousand years ago in Ancient China, a form of Chinese styled-like kenpō martial arts called Jūken (獣拳, Beast-Fist) was developed. It was created by a man named Bruce Ee, who came to Japan and built the hidden village Jūgenkyō (獣源郷, Beast Origin Village). Jūken is a martial art in which one mimics the abilities of animals as well as trying to attain spiritual peace. However, dissent grew among the creator's ten students. Three of them believed that they should use the suffering and hatred harnessed within humans to increase their power, using their power to assume their monstrous forms; the Three Kenma. After Brusa Ee was murdered, the Kenma gathered followers to practice an evil form of the Jūken style known as Rin Jūken Akugata. The other seven students believed that true strength should come from within and engaged their former friends in a great war, ending the fight with a forbidden technique to seal the Kenma powers at the cost of losing their human forms in the process, becoming the Seven Kensei. Followers of the Kensei created the Geki Jūken Beast Arts school: the Jūken of justice whose sport discipline enhances the human body with the self-produced positive Qi called "Geki." It is taught by Grand Master Sha Fu, one of the Seven Kensei, using a sports goods company named SCRTC (スクラッチ, Sukuratchi) as a front. Presently, a fallen student from the Geki Jūken school named Rio turned to the Rin Jūken style. He rebuilds the Rinjū Hall and brings the long-dead Rin Jūken users back to life as kyonshi to collect Rinki, Geki's polar opposite Qi, to resurrect the Three Kenma so that through them, he can become stronger. To fight the new Rinjū Hall, Sha Fu trained two youths: Ran Uzaki and Retsu Fukami. Along with Jyan Kandou, a feral boy raised by tigers in the woods near Jūgenkyō, the Gekiranger team is formed and later joined by two other Geki Jūken users, Gou Fukami, Retsu's brother and master of the Geki Jū Wolf-Ken style, and Ken Hisatsu, a genius master of the Geki Jū Rhinoceros- style, to save the world from the Akugata's ambitions. However, an even greater evil uses the two sides for its plan.

• Gekirangers: Students and associates of the Geki Jūken Beast Arts martial arts schools. The primary Gekirangers utilize the Geki Changer (ゲキチェンジャー, Geki Chenjā) arm guards, which harness and amplify their Geki, to transform and store their weapons, such as the Geki Bazooka (ゲキバズーカ, Geki Bazūka). After becoming Super Gekirangers, they gain the use of the Super Geki Claw (スーパーゲキクロー, Sūpā Geki Kurō) and jet engine-like vents on their suits that channel their Kageki and enable various feats of speed and aerial maneuverability. Furthermore, the Gekirangers can use their Geki to manifest the auras of their fighting styles' totem animals into physical forms and combine them to form Kenpō Giants (拳法巨人, Kenpō Kyojin).
  • Jyan Kandou (漢堂 ジャン, Kandō Jan): A feral child raised by tigers in the forest outside the Beast Origin Village (獣源郷, Jūgenkyō) who narrowly survived an attack by Long, who intended to kill him due to his lineage, and repressed the memories of the incident. As a result of his upbringing, Jyan's vocabulary became limited, leading to him incorporating "Jyan-ish" phrases such as "niki-niki", "zowa-zowa", and "waki-waki" in his speech. In the present, Master Xia Fu begins training Jyan as the latter embodies the "Unbreakable Body" (アンブレイカブル・ボディ, Anbureikaburu Bodi) aspect of Geki Jūken, which allows him to withstand most forms of pain, but requires assistance in mastering the Heart aspect. Soon after, Jyan joins the Gekirangers as Geki Red (ゲキレッド, Geki Reddo) and becomes a practitioner of the Geki Jū Tiger-Ken (激獣タイガー拳, Geki Jū Taigāken) and Geki Jū Shark-Ken styles. While transformed, he wields the Geki Nunchaku (ゲキヌンチャク, Geki Nunchaku) and the Geki Sabers (ゲキセイバー, Geki Seibā). As Super Geki Red (スーパーゲキレッド, Sūpā Geki Reddo), Jyan embodies the "Extremely Unbreakable Body" (過激にアンブレイカブル・ボディ, Kageki ni Anbureikaburu Bodi) aspect of Geki Jūken and utilizes the Geki Jū Gorilla-Ken style. Jyan Kandou is portrayed by Hiroki Suzuki (鈴木 裕樹, Suzuki Hiroki) as a young adult and Arashi Fukasawa (深澤 嵐, Fukasawa Arashi) as a child.
  • Ran Uzaki (宇崎 ラン, Uzaki Ran): An employee of SCRTC who comes from a high-class family and initially focuses heavily on her willpower and keeping her heart in the highest place, to the point where she embodies the "Honest Heart" (オネスト・ハート, Onesuto Hāto) aspect of Geki Jūken. However, a combination of these and her inability to attend to small details leaves her technique lacking. In time, she becomes happier and more relaxed and is appointed leader of the Gekirangers. Additionally, she is a practitioner of the Geki Jū Cheetah-Ken (激獣チーター拳, Geki Jū Chītāken) and Geki Jū Elephant-Ken styles. As Geki Yellow (ゲキイエロー, Geki Ierō), she wields the Geki Tonfa (ゲキトンファー, Geki Tonfā) standard-issue weapon in its Long Baton (ロングバトン, Rongu Baton) configuration and the Geki Hammer (ゲキハンマー, Geki Hanmā). As Super Geki Yellow (スーパーゲキイエロー, Sūpā Geki Ierō), she embodies the "Extremely Honest Heart" (過激にオネスト・ハート, Kageki ni Onesuto Hāto) aspect of Geki Jūken and utilizes the Geki Jū Penguin-Ken style. Ran Uzaki is portrayed by Mina Fukui (福井 未菜, Fukui Mina).
  • Retsu Fukami (深見 レツ, Fukami Retsu): An intelligent yet solitary, selfish, and seemingly cold SCRTC employee who holds a grudge against Rio, who he believes killed his brother Gou when he was a child. In pursuit of seeking revenge, Retsu set aside an artistic career to study his brother's fighting style, but believes winning should be like a painting; complete and inspirational. Due to prioritizing his techniques in his training, to the point where he embodies the "Fantastic Technique" (ファンタスティック・テクニック, Fantasutikku Tekunikku) aspect of Geki Jūken, Retsu's attention to beauty costs him stamina, leaving his body at a disadvantage until he defeats Master Bion Biao in an endurance match and obtains Kageki. Additionally, Retsu is a practitioner of the Geki Jū Jaguar-Ken (激獣ジャガー拳, Geki Jū Jagāken) and Geki Jū Bat-Ken styles. As Geki Blue (ゲキブルー, Geki Burū), he wields the Geki Tonfa in its standard dual tonfa configuration and the Geki Fans (ゲキファン, Geki Fan). As Super Geki Blue (スーパーゲキブルー, Sūpā Geki Burū), Retsu embodies the "Extremely Fantastic Technique" (過激にファンタスティック・テクニック, Kageki ni Fantasutikku Tekunikku) aspect of Geki Jūken and utilizes the Geki Jū Gazelle-Ken style. Retsu Fukami is portrayed by Manpei Takagi (高木 万平, Takagi Manpei) as a young adult, Nao Fujisaki (藤崎 直, Fujisaki Nao) as a child, and Sora Kitajima (北島 空, Kitajima Sora) as a baby respectively.
  • Gou Fukami (深見 ゴウ, Fukami Gō): Retsu's overprotective older brother and a student in Jūken alongside Rio and Miki Masaki. Despite this, Gou initially lacks passion for justice and fights only for himself. This resulted in him developing and mastering a dangerous form of Geki called Shigeki (紫激気（しげき）, "Violet Fierce Qi") and reinventing the Geki Jū Wolf-Ken (激獣ウルフ拳, Geki Jū Urufuken) style into his personal Fukami Style (深見流, Fukamiryū). After their parents died, Gou forced Retsu to never practice Jūken before leaving to fight Rio using an imperfect form of a forbidden Geki Waza in an attempt to defeat and seal him. However, Gou was transformed into a feral werewolf and wandered the world for fifteen years until he eventually regains his human form and reluctantly joins the Gekirangers as Geki Violet (ゲキバイオレット, Geki Baioretto). Unlike the primary Gekirangers, Gou embodies the "Iron Will" (アイアン・ウィル, Aian Wiru) aspect of Geki Juken and utilizes the Gong Changer (ゴングチェンジャー, Gongu Chenjā) brace in order to transform due to his Shigeki being incompatible with Geki Changers. Gou Fukami is portrayed by Riki Miura (三浦 力, Miura Riki).
  • Ken Hisatsu (久津 ケン, Hisatsu Ken): A free-spirited martial arts prodigy who trained at the Beast Origin Village and mastered one of the oldest fighting styles in the Beast Arts, the Geki Jū Rhinoceros-Ken (激獣ライノセラス拳, Geki Jū Rainoserasuken), to overcome the pain of losing his mother at a young age. He was originally meant to join Ran Uzaki and Retsu Fukami as their third teammate, but left to travel abroad due to his Geki Changer being broken and his desire to not restrict himself to the Geki Jūken school. Ken eventually returns in the present to aid the Gekirangers in their battle against the Rin Jūken Akugata and Gen Jūken schools as the white-colored Geki Chopper (ゲキチョッパー, Geki Choppā) before returning to work at SCRTC Meisters once the aforementioned battle is over. Unlike the primary Gekirangers, Ken embodies the "Amazing Ability" (アメイジング・アビリティ, Ameijingu Abiriti) aspect of Geki Jūken and utilizes the SaiBlade (サイブレード, Saiburēdo) gauntlet in order to transform. In combat, he can utilize the Geki Hard Diamond (激気研鑽, Geki Kensan) technique, which allows him to channel his Geki over his hand and convert it into a diamond blade, along with Kageki. Additionally, the SaiBlade serves as his primary weapon, can switch between the gun-like SaiBlade Finger (サイブレードフィンガー, Saiburēdo Fingā) mode and the blade-like SaiBlade Cutter (サイブレードカッター, Saiburēdo Kattā) mode, and can combine with the Super Gekirangers' Super Geki Claw to form the Super SaiBlade (スーパーサイブレード, Sūpā Saiburēdo), which either Ken or any one of the Super Gekirangers can use to perform a Kageki/Geki Hard Diamond fusion attack. Ken Hisatsu is portrayed by Sotaro (聡太郎, Sōtarō).
• Rio (理央): The leader of the Rin Jūken Akugata school and a practitioner of the Rinjū Lion-Ken (臨獣ライオン拳, Rin Jū Raionken) style who seeks to gain strength so he can never suffer pain again. He initially joined the Geki Jūken school, trained under Master Xia Fu, and formed a close bond with Gou Fukami, but was dissatisfied with his progress and left to join the Akugata. During this time, he harnessed the power of Rinki to manifest an armored form called Black Lion Rio (黒獅子リオ, Kurojishi Rio). Throughout the series, Rio forms a rivalry with Jyan and cultivates Rinki from his fear, hatred, and jealousy before he is overthrown by Maku and manifests Dorinki from his self-hatred. After receiving more power and killing Maku to regain his position, Rio falls under Long's influence and uses the Gen Jūken school's power to transform into Genjū King Rio (幻獣王リオ, Genjūō Rio), gaining mastery over the Genjū Gryphon-Ken (幻獣グリフォン拳, Gen Jū Gurifonken) style. Eventually, he discovers Long's treachery and joins forces with the Gekirangers to defeat him, sacrificing himself in the process. Rio is portrayed by Hirofumi Araki (荒木 宏文, Araki Hirofumi) as an adult and Shogo Ehara (江原 省吾, Ehara Shōgo) as a child.
• Mere (メレ): A cruel and malevolent practitioner of the Rinjū Chameleon-Ken (臨獣カメレオン拳, Rinjū Kamereonken) style who wields a pair of sais and a tongue-like weapon. Having died during the Geki-Rin Rebellion, Rio used Rinki to revive her as a Rinrinsi and grant her a human form a decade prior to the series due to their similar objectives. As a result, she became highly devoted to him and developed an initially unrequited love for him. She aids Rio in his plans throughout the series, during which she becomes a Vermilion Bird/rooster-themed Genshou with mastery over the Genjū Phoenix-Ken (幻獣フェニックス拳, Genjū Fenikkusuken) style while working with the Gen Jūken school, before discovering Long is manipulating Rio and joins the latter in helping the Gekirangers defeat him, sacrificing herself in the process. Mere is portrayed by Yuka Hirata (平田 裕香, Hirata Yuka).

• Geki Jūken Beast Arts (激獣拳ビーストアーツ, Geki Jūken Bīsuto Ātsu, "Fierce Beast-Fist Beast Arts"): A fictional martial arts school that uses a form of Qi called Geki (激気（げき, "Fierce Qi") as a source of power that manifests from the user's passion for justice and emphasizes the concepts of heart, technique, and body. The ultimate form of Geki is Kageki (過激気（かげき）, "Extreme Qi"), which can manifest if the user has mastered the heart-technique-body triangle and possesses a selfless desire to protect others. The sporting goods company SCRTC (スクラッチ, Sukuratchi, pronounced like the English word scratch) serves as a front for the martial arts school, specifically its Gekirangers.
  • Miki Masaki (真咲 美希, Masaki Miki): An assistant to Master Xia Fu, a student of the Geki Jūken Beast Arts, practitioner of the Geki Jū Leopard-Ken (激獣レオパード拳, Geki Jū Reopādoken) style, and the head of SCRTC's special development department who is responsible for designing most of the Gekirangers' weapons. Before training in Geki Jūken, Miki was an infamous sukeban in her youth and former leader of the Kanto Sukeban Alliance. Miki Masaki is portrayed by Kazue Itoh (伊藤 かずえ, Itō Kazue).
  • Seven Kensei (七拳聖, Shichi Kensei, lit. Seven "Fist Sages"): Legendary creators of the Geki Jūken style and students of Brusa Ee. After three of their fellow students broke off to found the Rin Jūken Akugata as the Three Kenma and killed Ee, the Kensei battled them in what would later be called the Geki-Rin Rebellion. The Kensei used a forbidden Geki Waza to seal the Kenmas' bodies, but forcibly turned them into anthropomorphic versions of their fighting styles' totem animals. Following the battle, the Kensei swore a Jūken Oath of nonviolence, only using their skills in defense, established the Geki Jūken in the Beast Origin Village, and created the Sevenfold Barrier of Seven Sages (七重七聖の関, Nanae Nanasei no Seki) to prevent Akugata members from entering its sacred grounds. Following this, three of their number have become the Master Triangle (マスタートライアングル, Masutā Toraianguru) after fully mastering one of the three major aspects of the Geki Jūken Beast Arts while one, Master Xia Fu, has mastered all three.
    • Master Xia Fu (マスター・シャーフー, Masutā Shā Fū): A grandmaster of the Geki Jū Caracal-Ken (激獣フェリス拳, Geki Jū Ferisuken) style and the leader of the Kensei who has mastered all three major aspects of Geki Jūken and serves as a mentor the Gekirangers. Master Xia Fu is voiced by Ichirō Nagai (永井 一郎, Nagai Ichirō).
    • Elehung Kam Po (エレハン・キンポー, Erehan Kinpō): A playful yet perverted Kensei, plant manager of SCRTC Meisters, and grandmaster of the Geki Jū Elephant-Ken (激獣エレファント拳, Geki Jū Erefantoken) style, which relies on the use of a meteor hammer, who normally resides on Shibe Mountain disguised as a mononoke. Elehung Kam Po is voiced by Yū Mizushima (水島 裕, Mizushima Yū).
    • Bat Li (バット・リー, Batto Rī): A stubborn and eccentric Kensei and grandmaster of the Geki Jū Bat-Ken (激獣バット拳, Geki Jū Battoken) style, which focuses on graceful and elegant techniques combined with artistic beauty, though it relies on being in a trance. Bat Li is voiced by Shūichi Ikeda (池田 秀一, Ikeda Shūichi).
    • Sharkie Chan (シャッキー・チェン, Shakkī Chen): An emotional Kensei and grandmaster of the Geki Jū Shark-Ken (激獣シャーク拳, Geki Jū Shākuken) style, which relies on a hardened body and twin swords, who normally resides on the isolated Aozame Island. Sharkie Chan is voiced by Hiroya Ishimaru (石丸 博也, Ishimaru Hiroya).
    • Gorie Yen (ゴリー・イェン, Gorī Yen): The reserved head of the Jūken Consultation Office and grandmaster of the Geki Jū Gorilla-Ken (激獣ゴリラ拳, Geki Jū Goriraken) style, which uses powerful punches and climbing skills, who represents the Raging Heart (レイジング・ハート, Reijingu Hāto) of the Master Triangle and is also known as the "Wild Wiseman" (荒ぶる賢人, Araburu Kenjin). Gorie Yen is voiced by Ryūzaburō Ōtomo (大友 龍三郎, Ōtomo Ryūzaburō).
    • Michelle Peng (ミシェル・ペング, Misheru Pengu): The sweet and bubbly director of SCRTC's Sweden branch and grandmaster of the Geki Jū Penguin-Ken (激獣ペンギン拳, Geki Jū Penginken) style, which utilizes boardsport skills, who represents the Supreme Technique (シュープリーム・テクニック, Shūpurīmu Tekunikku) of the Master Triangle, possesses a scary temper, and is also known as the Splendid Fighting Goddess (華麗なる戦いの女神, Kareinaru Tatakai no Megami). Michelle Peng is voiced by Atsuko Tanaka (田中 敦子, Tanaka Atsuko).
    • Bion Biao (ピョン・ピョウ, Pyon Pyō): The grandmaster of the Geki Jū Gazelle-Ken (激獣ガゼル拳, Geki Jū Gazeruken) style, which emphasizes the use of kicks, who represents the Undying Body (アンダイイング・ボディ, Andaiingu Bodī) of the Master Triangle, is also known as the Savanna Shortstop (サバンナの遊撃手, Sabanna no Yūgekishu), and previously monitored a national park in Kenya until he is summoned to train the Gekirangers. Bion Biao is voiced by Takeshi Kusao (草尾 毅, Kusao Takeshi).
  • Natsume Masaki (真咲 なつめ, Masaki Natsume): Miki's daughter who attends elementary school, assists the Gekirangers, and eventually becomes a practitioner of the Geki Jū Python-Ken (激獣蠎ー拳, Paisonken) style with Retsu Fukami's guidance. Natsume Misaki is portrayed by Sakina Kuwae (桑江 咲菜, Kuwae Sakina).
  • Dan (ダン, Dan): Jyan Kandou's father, a practitioner of the Geki Jū Tiger-Ken capable of accessing white tiger-based Geki, star pupil of Master Xia Fu's, and senior master of Rio, Gou Fukami, and Miki Masaki who is also known as Byakko (ビャッコ, Byakko). When Rio left to join the Akugata, Dan attempted to save him, but was fatally wounded by Long, who used his Geki Soul to create Suugu. While Suugu initially serves Long loyally, Dan's soul would eventually awaken inside the Genshou and rescue his son, who kills him to release his soul. Dan is portrayed by Kenji Ohba (大葉 健二, Ōba Kenji), who also voices Suugu.
• Rin Jūken Akugata (臨獣拳アクガタ, Rin Jūken Akugata, "Opposing Beast-Fist Akugata"): A fictional martial arts school and the Geki Jūken Beast Arts' rival school based in the Rin Jū Hall (臨獣殿, Rin Jū Den), a dojo located on the remote Rin Jū Mountain (臨獣山, Rin Jū Zan), with a natural selection-based philosophy, believing that only those strong enough can survive their harsh and inhuman training methods. Rin Jūken practitioners use a form of Qi called Rinki (臨気（りんき）, "Opposing Qi"), which is powered by the user's darkness and is used to perform fighting techniques called Ringi (リンギ（臨技）, Ringi, Confrontation Techniques), with the ultimate form of Rinki being Dorinki (怒臨気（どりんき）, "Anger Opposing Qi"), which manifests through infinite rage and a desire to destroy everything.
  • The Three Kenma (三拳魔, San Kenma, Three Fist Demons): The Akugata's founders and counterpart to the Geki Jūken's Seven Kensei who mastered the Beast-Man Wicked Body Change technique to transform themselves into monstrous anthropomorphic versions of their respective fighting style's totem animals, though they require high amounts of Rinki. Years prior, they studied under Brusa Ee alongside the Kensei before their desire to use fear and rage to power themselves combined with Maku's grudge against Ee led to them murdering the latter, breaking off to found the Akugata, and starting the Geki-Rin Rebellion. However, the Kenma were defeated by the Kensei, who sealed their souls in three Kenma Bracelets (拳魔の腕輪, Kenma no Udewa) while their bodies were sealed separately. In the present, Rio gains possession of the Kenma Bracelets and steadily resurrects them throughout the series. While they are killed by Long, Jyan Kandou gains ahold of the Kenma Bracelets and receives their help in defeating Long.
    • Sky Kenma Kata (空の拳魔カタ, Sora no Kenma Kata): A grandmaster of the Rin Jū Hawk-Ken (臨獣ホーク拳, Rin Jū Hōkuken) style, which focuses on aerial attacks and damaging the opponent's psyche, whose power comes from hatred and malice. Additionally, he wields the Gale Sword (疾風の剣, Shippū no Tsurugi) halberd and can create illusions. His body was sealed in a stone tomb that Master Xia Fu sealed with a Geki barrier hidden on a mountain summit beset by a perpetual storm until Rio revives him in the present to train him. Impressed by Rio's ideals, Kata agrees, though the latter's brutal training methods lead to Mere fearing for Rio's well-being and resurrecting Rageku. Following this, Kata agrees to let her take over Rio's training and leaves for a separate section of Rin Jū Mountain. While taking part in an attack on the Beast Origin Village, Kata withstands most of the Gekirangers' strongest attacks until Jyan Kandou overcomes his illusions. An enraged Kata enlarges and overpowers GekiFire and GekiTohja Wolf, but is killed by SaiDaiOh. Amidst the Gekirangers' final battle with Long, Rio transfers Kata's Rinki to Ran Uzaki to unify the Geki and Rin Jūken styles. Kata is voiced by Rokurō Naya (納谷 六朗, Naya Rokurō).
    • Sea Kenma Rageku (海の拳魔ラゲク, Umi no Kenma Rageku): A grandmaster of the Rin Jū Jelly-Ken (臨獣ジェリー拳, Rin Jū Jerīken), which allows physical attacks to pass harmlessly through the user, whose training is based on jealousy and envy after being romantically spurned by Master Xia Fu in the past. Her body was sealed at the bottom of the sea before Mere revives her in the present for fear that Kata's brutal training methods would kill Rio. Rageku takes on Rio and Mere as students, teaching them to gain power from envy. While taking part in an attack on the Beast Origin Village, Rageku uses her powers to send the Gekirangers, Rio, and Mere back in time to the Edo period before attempting to destroy SaiDain. However, she is nearly killed and driven off by Geki Chopper and murdered by Long. Amidst the Gekirangers' final battle with Long, Rio transfers Rageku's Rinki to Retsu Fukami to unify the Geki and Rin Jūken styles. Rageku is voiced by Naoko Kouda (幸田 直子, Kōda Naoko).
    • Land Kenma Maku (大地の拳魔マク, Daichi no Kenma Maku): A grandmaster of the Rin Jū Bear-Ken (臨獣ベアー拳, Rin Jū Beāken), which focuses on brute force. As he possesses tremendous Dorinki from his endless rage, he served as the original leader of the Akugata and can empower his followers. In the past, Maku was infuriated that he was made Brusa Ee's successor on the recommendation of Xia Fu, Ee's first choice, rather than on his own merits. In response, Maku ended his friendship with Xia Fu and, after meeting Long, founded the Akugata, murdered Ee, and started the Geki-Rin Rebellion with the intention of becoming the strongest being on Earth. However, he was defeated by the Kensei and his body was sealed behind a locked door in the Rin Jū Hall. In the present, despite Kata and Rageku's warnings, Rio breaks the seal on the door and resurrects him. Disgusted by the changes that occurred while he was dead, Maku overthrows Rio, resumes his leadership position, and declares a new Geki-Rin Rebellion. While launching an attack on the Beast Origin Village, Rio's disrespect and his fellow Kenma's criticisms towards him cause the enraged Maku to enlarge before fighting the Gekirangers, who eventually defeat him. Amidst the Gekirangers' final battle with Long, Rio transfers Maku's Rinki to Jyan Kandou to unify the Geki and Rin Jūken styles. Maku is voiced by Hidekatsu Shibata (柴田 秀勝, Shibata Hidekatsu).
• Bae (バエ): A practitioner of the Geki Jū Fly-Ken (激獣フライ拳, Gekijū Furaiken) style, which turns his vocalizations into Geki, who fought Mere during the Geki-Rin Rebellion, during which he assumed an imperfect anthropomorphic fly-like form, only to be swallowed by Mere before she died. After Rio resurrected her, Bae was resurrected as well and became dependent on her for his survival. Throughout the series, he impulsively serves as a commentator for battles between the Gekirangers' Kenpō Giants and enlarged Beast-Men and serves as an unwanted confidante for Mere before she eventually sees him as an equal. When she underwent the Fist Judgment to cleanse herself of her Genki, it entered Bae and fully resurrected him. Bae is voiced by Akira Ishida (石田 彰, Ishida Akira).
• Gen Jūken (幻獣拳, "Mythical Beast Fist"): A fictional martial arts group who utilize golden Qi called Genki (幻気（げんき）, "Mythical Qi"), practice Gengi (ゲンギ（幻技）, Mythical Techniques), and seek to exceed the power of natural beasts by mastering the power of mythical creatures via thirteen fighting styles based on the Chinese zodiac and the Four Symbols, the latter of which being represented by the group's leaders, the Four Genshou (四幻将, Shi Genshō).
  • Infinite Dragon Long (無間龍ロン, Mugen Ryū Ron): The malicious Azure Dragon-themed coordinator and leader of the Gen Jūken, the self-proclaimed master of the Gen Jū Dragon-Ken (幻獣ドラゴン拳, Gen Jū Doragonken), and an immortal whose true form is a many-headed golden dragon with terrible power who manipulates humanity on a whim. Because of his immortality and evil nature, he found the world dull and decided to create the "Destroyer", a mindless monster capable of destroying the world. To this end, he manipulated Maku in a failed attempt at turning him into the Destroyer before turning his attention to Rio and attempted to kill the Kandou family for fear that their ability to enhance their Qi would threaten his plans. In the present, Long reveals himself to personally oversee Rio's training until Mere discovers his true intentions and convinces the latter to join her in helping the Gekirangers defeat Long by sealing him in the Dōkokugan (慟哭丸, lit. Wailing Ball), which Jyan Kandou takes possession of to protect it. During the events of the crossover film Engine Sentai Go-onger vs. Gekiranger, Akugata engineer Meka steals the Dōkokugan and converts it into the Dōkokugan Soul (慟哭丸ソウル, Dōkokugan Sōru) in order to empower Nunchaku Banki as part of his plan to rule the world with the dragon's power. After Jyan and Go-on Red defeat Nunchaku Banki, the Dōkokugan's seal is partially undone, allowing Long to emerge and convert Nunchaku Banki into Long Banki (ロンバンキ, Ron Banki) so he can seek revenge on the Gekirangers. He enlarges, but is defeated by the Gekirangers and Go-ongers, which restores the Dōkokugan to normal. Long is portrayed by Naoki Kawano (川野 直輝, Kawano Naoki).
  • Sanyo (サンヨ, San'yo): A talkative, immortal Black Tortoise / snake-themed Genshou, Long's right hand, and master of the Gen Jū Basilisk-Ken (幻獣バジリスク拳, Gen Jū Bajirisukuken) style, which emphasizes gravity-based attacks, that Long created from his own body. After inadvertently revealing Long's true plans to Mere, Sanyo battles her and Geki Yellow, Blue, Violet and Chopper. Despite surviving the battle, Sanyo helps recreate Long, who reabsorbs his subordinate after assuming his true form. Sanyo is voiced by Hideyuki Umezu (梅津 秀行, Umezu Hideyuki).
  • Suugu (スウグ, Sūgu): A White Tiger / Tiger of the Earthly Branches-themed Genshou and master of the Gen Jū Chimera-Ken (幻獣キメラ拳, Gen Jū Kimeraken) style, which allows him to use Geki and Rin Jūken styles, that Long created from Dan's Geki soul. While he initially lacked Dan's mind, Suugu slowly takes on aspects of the latter's personality and gains access to his memories. This would lead to Suugu overcoming Long's control and sacrificing himself to save Jyan Kandou. Suugu is voiced by Kenji Ohba, who also portrays Dan.

  • Kentaro Hisatsu (久津 権太郎, Hisatsu Kentarō): Ken's father and head of SCRTC's Special Items Development department, a.k.a. "SCRTC Meisters" (スクラッチ・マイスターズ, Sukuratchi Maisutāzu), which is disguised as a backstreet factory run by the Hisatsu family. Kentaro Hisatsu is portrayed by Taro Ishida (石田 太郎, Ishida Tarō).
  • Sachiko Hisatsu (久津 幸子, Hisatsu Sachiko): Ken's younger sister who is portrayed by Juri Ihata (井端 珠里, Ihata Juri).
  • Brusa Ee (ブルーサ・イー, Burūsa Ī): The creator of the Jūken style and a master of the Geki Jū Rhinoceros-Ken style who taught ten students, who would go on to become the Seven Kensei and the Three Kenma. He intended for Master Xia Fu to succeed him as Jūken master, but Xia Fu refused and recommended Maku. Enraged by this, Maku joined the Kenma in starting the Geki-Rin Rebellion and killing Ee. Despite this, Ee's Geki Soul would later enter SaiDain. Brusa Ee is voiced by Shoma Kai (甲斐 将馬, Kai Shōma).
• Rinsis (リンシーズ, Rinshīzu): Lance-wielding jiangshi that Rio creates to serve as foot soldiers for the Akugata via the Ringi technique "Rinzai". They can be promoted into Rinrinsi via the Chamber of Trials (試しの房, Tameshi no Bō) and gain the ability to transform into Beast-Men. One Rinsi in particular, nicknamed the "Dropout Rinsi" (おちこぼれリンシー, Ochikobore Rinshī), finds the Raspberry Diamond for Mere and dons armor, but is destroyed by Geki Chopper before Mere can activate his full power. The Dropout Rinsi is voiced by Katsumi Shiono (塩野 勝美, Shiono Katsumi).
• Beast-Men (獣人, Jūjin): The Akugata's primary warriors capable of using their Ringi to change into a fighting form based on their respective fighting style's totem animal and enlarge themselves. Their names are anagrams of their totem animal's Japanese name.
  • Rinrinsi (リンリンシー, Rinrinshī): High-ranking Rinsi who passed the Chamber of Trials (試しの房, Tameshi no Bō) and possess an animal signature on their forehead to indicate their fighting style. Depending on the amount of Rinki they have absorbed, they can only maintain their Beast-Men forms for a short amount of time, though Rinrinsi empowered by Maku are able to maintain their fighting forms for an indefinite amount of time.
    • Makirika (マキリカ): A master of the Rin Jū Mantis-Ken (臨獣マンティス拳, Rinjū Mantisuken) style, which allows him to cut through any material. He is sent by Rio to retrieve the Kenma Bracelets from the Geki Jūken school, but is defeated by Master Xia Fu. Makirika enlarges and, with Mere's aid, tears down a dam to flood a nearby city, but is killed by GekiTohja. Makirika is voiced by Hiroshi Tsuchida (土田 大, Tsuchida Hiroshi).
    • Gyuuya (ギュウヤ, Gyūya): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Buffalo-Ken (臨獣バッファロー拳, Rinjū Baffarōken) style, which emphasizes charging power and allows him to break through solid walls via his powerful thighs and Rinki-charged horns. He initially overpowers Geki Red, but is forced to retreat due to inexperience. Gyuuya resumes the fight after undergoing further training, but is defeated by Geki Red's new attacks. The former enlarges, but is killed by GekiTohja. Gyuuya is voiced by Masaharu Satō (佐藤 正治, Satō Masaharu).
    • Five Venom-Ken (五毒拳, Godokuken): The Akugata's venomous animal/Five Deadly Venoms-themed elite warriors who are summoned by Rio to kill the Gekirangers. Despite defeating them in their first encounter, the Venom-Ken are subsequently defeated by the Gekirangers during later battles.
      • Kademu (カデム): A dirty-handed master of the Rin Jū Centipede-Ken (臨獣センチピード拳, Rinjū Senchipīdoken) style, which allows him to deliver a hundred rapid hits in one second and produce pain-inducing venom. After being defeated by Geki Yellow, Kademu enlarges, but is killed by GekiTohja. Braco later resurrects Kademu to help him assassinate Rio, but Kademu is killed once more by Mere. Kademu is voiced by Yoshimitsu Shimoyama (下山 吉光, Shimoyama Yoshimitsu).
      • Moriya (モリヤ): A talkative and superior-minded practitioner of the Rin Jū Gecko-Ken (臨獣ゲッコー拳, Rinjū Gekkōken) style, which emphasizes fluid hit-and-run attacks, grants the ability to walk on walls and ceilings, and the ability to produce fatal paralysis-inducing venom. After being defeated by Geki Blue, Moriya enlarges, but is killed by GekiTohja. Braco later resurrects Moriya to help him assassinate Rio. After seeing the similarly resurrected Kademu killed however, Moriya terrorizes the city to gather Rinki and prepare himself for Rio's retribution, only to be killed once more by the Gekirangers. Moriya is voiced by Kōichi Sakaguchi (坂口 候一, Sakaguchi Kōichi).
      • Sorisa (ソリサ): A master of the Rin Jū Scorpion-Ken (臨獣スコーピオン拳, Rinjū Sukōpionken) style, which emphasizes dancing and kicking and grants the ability to produce fever-inducing venom. She and Maga join forces to attack the Gekirangers. She enlarges, but is killed by GekiTohja due to Maga's presence changing her personality. Sorisa is voiced by Shinobu Adachi (安達 忍, Adachi Shinobu).
      • Maga (マガ): A master of the Rin Jū Toad-Ken (臨獣トード拳, Rinjū Tōdoken) style, which emphasizes an iron body defense and the ability to produce chills-inducing venom. At Mere's suggestion, Maga convinces Sorisa to let him join her in attacking the Gekirangers by combining their abilities. However, he becomes arrogant and dimwitted, leading to the Gekirangers killing him. Maga is voiced by Takashi Nagasako (長嶝 高士, Nagasako Takashi).
      • Braco (ブラコ, Burako): The leader of the Venom-Ken and a practitioner of the Rin Jū Snake-Ken (臨獣スネーク拳, Rinjū Sunēkuken) style, which emphasizes accuracy, targeting an opponent's weak spots, and grants the ability to produce nausea-inducing venom, who wields the twin Mysterious Snake Blades (妖蛇刀, Yōjatō) and the True Poison fangs, which allow him to resurrect himself or others. Following the deaths of his fellow Venom-Ken, he plots to assassinate Rio and take over the Akugata, but Mere refuses to join Braco and kills him instead. Braco is voiced by Kunihiko Yasui (安井 邦彦, Yasui Kunihiko).
    • Muzankose (ムザンコセ): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Pangolin-Ken (臨獣パンゴリン拳, Rinjū Pangorinken) style who possesses Rinki-charged near-impenetrable scale armor. Following Kata's resurrection, Muzankose is sent to cause earthquakes to gather Rinki for the Kenma. The latter enlarges, but is killed by GekiElephantTohja. Muzankose is voiced by Yōsuke Akimoto (秋元 羊介, Akimoto Yōsuke).
    • Nagiu (ナギウ): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Eel-Ken (臨獣イール拳, Rinjū Īruken) style, which allows him to use his Rinki to produce slime from his body capable of letting him slip past enemy attacks. He overwhelms the Gekirangers until they develop a technique to remove his slime. Growing fearful due to lacking Rinki to make more slime, he enlarges, but is killed by GekiElephantTohja. Nagiu is voiced by Keiichi Nanba (難波 圭一, Nanba Kiichi).
    • Eruka (エルカ): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Frog-Ken (臨獣トード拳, Rin Jūjōdoken) style, who possesses similar attacks as Maga. After enlarging, Eruka is killed by GekiTohja, Elephant, Bat, and Shark. Eruka is voiced by Ryuzou Ishino (石野 竜三, Ishino Ryūzō).
    • Tabū (タブー): A dim-witted user of the Rin Jū Pig-Ken (臨獣ピッグ拳, Rinjū Pigguken) style, which emphasizes an enhanced sense of smell and tracking capabilities. Mere recruits him to find the Ikigimo in order to facilitate Maku's resurrection. Tabū enlarges, but is killed by GekiSharkFire. Tabū is voiced by Taichirō Hirokawa (広川 太一郎, Hirokawa Taichirō).
    • Mārashiya (マーラシヤ): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Porcupine-Ken (臨獣ポーキュパイン拳, Rinjū Pōkyupainken) style, which allows him to alter the minds of those struck by his quills. After enlarging, he is killed by GekiElephantFire. Mārashiya is voiced by Takayuki Kondō (近藤 孝行, Kondō Takayuki).
    • Hihi (ヒヒ): Maku's personal bodyguard and a practitioner of the Rin Jū Baboon-Ken (臨獣バブーン拳, Rinjū Babūnken) style, which emphasizes quick jumps and biting attacks and using trees as leverage. After receiving Dorinki and evolving into a new form, Hihi is sent to herald the beginning of the second Geki-Rin Rebellion. He severely wounds the Gekirangers and, after enlarging, defeats GekiTohja, only to be killed by GekiTohja Wolf. Hihi is voiced by Bin Shimada (島田 敏, Shimada Bin).
    • Pouōte (ポウオーテ, Pōōte): A servant of Rageku's and practitioner of the Rin Jū Archerfish-Ken (臨獣アーチャーフィッシュ拳, Rinjū Āchāfisshuken) style, which allows him to fire Rinki-charged water blasts from his nozzle gauntlets. After being empowered by Maku and enlarging, Pouōte is killed by GekiTohja Wolf. Pouōte is voiced by Dai Matsumoto (松本 大, Matsumoto Dai).
    • Niwa (ニワ): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Crocodile-Ken (臨獣クロコダイル拳, Rinjū Kurokodairuken) style, which emphasizes reckless brute force and increased defensive capabilities, and one of Rio's five strongest Rinrinsi. Refusing Maku's power, Niwa successfully overpowers the Gekirangers until he is killed by Geki Chopper. Niwa is voiced by Keikō Sakai (酒井 敬幸, Sakai Keikō).
    • Chouda (チョウダ, Chōda): A servant of Kata's and practitioner of the Rin Jū Ostrich-Ken (臨獣オーストリッチ拳, Rinjū Ōsutoritchiken) style, which emphasizes super-speed. Chouda battles the Gekirangers until he enlarges and is killed by GekiBatFire and GekiTohja Wolf. At the last minute, Chouda lays an egg that later hatches into a new Chouda with increased power and immunity to most of the Gekirangers' attacks. After Geki Chopper defeats him, the new Chouda enlarges, but is killed by GekiFire. Both Choudas are voiced by Yasuaki Takumi (内匠 靖明, Takumi Yasuaki).
    • Tsuneki (ツネキ): A master of the Rin Jū Fox-Ken (臨獣フォックス拳, Rinjū Fokkusuken) style, which emphasizes archery. After Maku sends him to gather Rinki, Tsuneki traps the Gekirangers in his Fox Dimension Big Bomb barrier to stop them from interfering, but the Gekirangers escape. Tsuneki enlarges, but is killed by GekiElephantFire. Tsuneki is voiced by Yasuhiro Takato (高戸 靖広, Takato Yasuhiro).
  • Living Beast-Men: The Akugata's strongest and oldest students who lack a Rinrinsi form and often serve as the Kenma's personal bodyguards.
    • Flying-Ken (飛翔拳, Hishōken): Kata's bodyguards and masters of aerial martial arts and bladed weapons whose attacks are primarily focused on their opponents' heads. Following Kata's resurrection, they aid him in acquiring Rinki by turning people's fear into lightning, only to be killed by GekiBatTohja.
      • Rasuka (ラスカ): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Crow-Ken (臨獣クロー拳, Rinjū Kurōken) style, which emphasizes aggressive airborne attacks and determining weak points who wields shurikens and the Corrosion Barbarian Sword (腐食蛮刀, Fushoku Bantō). He and Rūtsu gather Rinki for Kata and battle the Gekirangers until the pair enlarge and Rasuka is killed by GekiBatTohja. Rasuka is voiced by Kunihiro Kawamoto (河本 邦弘, Kawamoto Kunihiro).
      • Rūtsu (ルーツ): An effeminate practitioner of the Rin Jū Crane-Ken (臨獣クレーン拳, Rinjū Kurēnken) style, which emphasizes graceful air maneuvers, who wields the twin Crane Leg Sharp Swords (鶴脚尖剣, Kakukyaku Senken) and bears feelings towards Rasuka. After Rasuka is killed during their first battle with the Gekirangers, Rūtsu is driven insane by his desire for revenge, gaining increased power. He takes Rasuka's sword, which he begins talking to as if it were his fallen partner, and attempts to kill the Gekirangers in retaliation. He enlarges, but is killed by GekiBatTohja. Rūtsu is voiced by Taiki Matsuno (松野 太紀, Matsuno Taiki).
    • Dokariya (ドカリヤ): A servant of Rageku's and practitioner of the Rin Jū Hermit Crab-Ken (臨獣ハーミットクラブ拳, Rinjū Hāmittokurabuken) style, which emphasizes subterfuge and possessing his opponents. Seeking to prove his love for her, he intends to make Master Xia Fu suffer on her behalf. As part of his plot, Dokariya possesses the Gekirangers' allies to attack them and divert attention away from his target, but is discovered and defeated by Geki Red. Dokariya enlarges, but is killed by GekiSharkTohja. Dokariya is voiced by Yukitoshi Hori (堀 之紀, Hori Yukitoshi).
    • Mukoua (ムコウア, Mukōa): A servant of Rageku's and practitioner of the Rin Jū Anglerfish-Ken (臨獣アングラーフィッシュ拳, Rinjū Angurāfisshuken) style. She sends him back in time to the Edo period to ensure the Gekirangers, Rio, and Mere do not return to the present. Mukoua enlarges, but is killed by GekiRinTohja. Mukoua is voiced by Masaru Ōbayashi (大林 勝, Ōbayashi Masaru).
  • Rinki Soldiers (臨機兵, Rinkihei, Confrontation Machine Soldiers): Non-sentient beetle/Terracotta Army-themed soldiers hidden within Rin Jū Mountain that the Kenma can animate via their Rinki. Kata and Rageku summon two Rinki Soldiers to assist Rio, only to face the Super Gekirangers and destroyed by the Super Geki Beasts. Maku later summons another pair and turns them into Dorinki Soldiers (怒臨機兵, Dorinkihei), though they are destroyed by GekiTohja Wolf and GekiFire.
    • Butoka (ブトカ, Butoka): A Japanese rhinoceros beetle-themed variant that practices the Rin Jū Beetle-Ken (臨獣ビートル拳, Rinjū Bītoruken) style.
    • Wagataku (ワガタク, Wagataku): A stag beetle-themed variant that practices the Rin Jū Stag-Ken (臨獣スタッグ拳, Rinjū Sutagguken) style.

    • Burazemia (ブラゼミア): A practitioner of the Rin Jū Locust-Ken (臨獣ロウカスト拳, Rinjū Rōkasutoken) who is killed by GekiTohja and appears exclusively in the special drama sessions of the Juken Sentai Gekiranger original soundtrack.
    • Bākā (バーカー): A dimwitted yet powerful practitioner of the Rin Jū Hippopotamus-Ken (臨獣ヒポポタマス拳, Rinjū Hipopotamasuken) armed with a mallet who appears exclusively in the crossover film Juken Sentai Gekiranger vs Boukenger. He assists Pachacamac XII, but is killed by the Gekirangers and Boukengers. Bākā is voiced by Yūji Kishi (岸 祐二, Kishi Yūji).
    • Meka (メカ): The last surviving member of the Akugata and practitioner of the Rin Jū Tortoise-Ken (臨獣トータス拳, Rinjū Tōtasuken), which grants the use of the KameKame Hammer, who is nicknamed the "Mad Engineer" and appears exclusively in the crossover film Engine Sentai Go-onger vs. Gekiranger. He allies himself with the Gaiark Clan to steal Long's sealed form in order to remake the world in his image. After Long is revived, Meka aligns himself with the former before he is killed by the Gekirangers and Go-ongers. Meka is voiced by Hidenari Ugaki (宇垣 秀成, Ugaki Hidenari).
• Twin Gensi (双幻士, Sōgenshi): Gen Jūken apprentices who support the Four Genshou who can use Gengi to enlarge themselves:
  • Gouyu (ゴウユ, Gōyu): A boar-themed servant of Sanyo's and master of the Gen Jū Cetus-Ken (幻獣ケイトス拳, Gen Jū Keitosuken) style, which emphasizes sound-based attacks. While fighting the Gekirangers, he enlarges and is nearly killed by GekiElephantFire before Sanyo intervenes. Gouyu later returns to protect Rio from Geki Violet, only to be killed by the latter. Gouyu is voiced by Shigeo Kiyama (喜山 茂雄, Kiyama Shigeo).
  • Shiyuu (シユウ, Shiyū): An ox-themed servant of Sanyo's and master of the Gen Jū Minotaur-Ken (幻獣ミノタウロス拳, Gen Jū Minotaurosuken), style, which relies on mirrors and his Mythical Reflection Mirror (幻射鏡, Genshakyō) armor. He is sent to infiltrate the Geki Jūken school via a mirror clone of Geki Blue. After being exposed by Geki Violet, Shiyuu enlarges, but is killed by GekiBatTohja Wolf and SaiDaiOh. Shiyuu is voiced by Mitsuaki Madono (真殿 光昭, Madono Mitsuaki).
  • Haku (ハク): A cowardly horse-themed servant of Mere's and master of the Gen Jū Unicorn-Ken (幻獣ユニコーン拳, Gen Jū Yunikōnken) style, which emphasizes mind control, who wields two arm blades. He kidnaps children in order to generate Genki from them and their distraught parents. After he enlarges however, he is killed by Miki Masaki piloting SaiDaiOh. Haku is voiced by Kiyotaka Furushima (古島 清孝, Furushima Kiyotaka).
  • Hiso (ヒソ): A rabbit-themed servant of Long's who pretends to serve Mere and master of the Gen Jū Pixie-Ken (幻獣ピクシー拳, Gen Jū Pikushīken) style, which emphasizes the use of blades. She is tasked with protecting Long and Rio, only to be killed by the Gekirangers' Geki Beasts. Hiso is voiced by Keiko Han (潘 恵子, Han Keiko).
  • Dorou (ドロウ, Dorō): A solitary and eccentric goat-themed servant of Long's and master of the Gen Jū Capricorn-Ken (幻獣カプリコーン拳, Gen Jū Kapurikōnken) style, which involves Chinese alchemy and attacks that alter energy currents. He assists Sojo in generating Genki by creating Dorou Grain to transfer people to Sojo's gourds and make them scream to generate Genki. Dorou enlarges, but is killed by the Gekirangers' Geki Beasts. Dorou is voiced by Tetsu Inada (稲田 徹, Inada Tetsu).
  • Sojo (ソジョ): A solitary yet hyperactive rat-themed servant of Long's, aid to Dorou, and master of the Gen Jū Afanc-Ken (幻獣アーヴァンク拳, Gen Jū Āvankuken) style, which emphasizes lightning and spin-based attacks and energy-absorption capabilities. With Dorou's help, Sojo enacts a plot to generate Genki by trapping people in his gourds. After enlarging, Sojo absorbs their Geki Beasts' attacks in the hopes of utilizing their Geki in his plot, only to be killed by SaiDaiGekiTohja. Sojo is voiced by Kyousei Tsukui (津久井 教生, Tsukui Kyōsei).
  • Shuen (シュエン): A maniacal, prank loving monkey-themed servant of Suugu's and master of the bōjutsu-esque Gen Jū Hanuman-Ken (幻獣ハヌマーン拳, Gen Jū Hanumānken) style, which grants the ability to produce clones of himself. He is sent to cause mayhem on Christmas Eve and generate Genki, only to be defeated by Geki Chopper. Shuen enlarges, but is killed by SaiDaiGekiFire. Shuen is voiced by Hiroyuki Shibamoto (柴本 浩行, Shibamoto Hiroyuki).
  • Kou (コウ, Kō): A serious yet boastful dog-themed servant of Suugu's, younger brother of Braco, and master of the Gen Jū Cerberus-Ken (幻獣ケルベロス拳, Gen Jū Keruberosuken) style, which emphasizes the use of his chakram shock collars. He is sent to spread fear and generate Genki, only to be defeated by Geki Chopper, Blue, and Yellow. Kou enlarges, but is killed by SaiDaiOh. Kou is voiced by Kunihiko Yasui (安井 邦彦, Yasui Kunihiko).

Spin-off exclusive

• Hong Kong Interpol Officer Lao Fan (香港国際警察ラオファン, Honkon Kokusai Keisatsu Rao Fan): A Chinese Interpol officer who meets the Gekirangers, Rio, and Mere on Yang's island, where she is working to discover Yang's plans. Lao Fan is portrayed by Mayumi Ono (小野 真弓, Ono Mayumi).
• Mechung Fu (銘功夫（メカンフー）, Mekanfū): A group of invertebrate-themed cyborg martial artists who appear exclusively in the film Juken Sentai Gekiranger: Nei-Nei! Hou-Hou! Hong Kong Decisive Battle.
  • Hong Kong Media King Yang (香港のメディア王ヤン, Honkon Media Ō Yan): The founder of Mechung Fu and master of the Mechung Fu Antlion-Ken (銘功夫アントライオン拳, Mekanfū Antoraionken) style who seeks to gather several fighters' Qi in order to become the strongest being in the world and rule it. After becoming a cyborg Beastman and completing his mecha, Mechannon (銘観音（メカンノン）, Mekannon), he is killed by GekiRinTohja. King Yang is portrayed by Masashi Ishibashi (石橋 雅史, Ishibashi Masashi).
  • Yang's Secretary Miranda (ヤンの秘書ミランダ, Yan no Hisho Miranda): Yang's Machine-Man assistant and master of the Mechung Fu Sea Anemone-Ken (銘功夫シーアネモネ拳, Mekanfū Shīanemoneken) style, which allows her to fire Petal Missiles (花弁ミサイル, Kaben Misairu). She is tasked with finding martial artists and using her Super Absorbing Qi (超吸気, Chōkyūki) to drain them of their Qi and power Yang's transformation. Though she is killed by Rio, she uses her own Qi to complete the aforementioned transformation. Miranda is portrayed by Yinling (インリン, Inrin).
  • Machine-Men (機械人, Kikaijin): Robots created by Yang to serve him as foot soldiers for Mechung Fu.
• Cosmic Kenpō Master Pachacamac XII (宇宙拳法の使い手パチャカマック１２世, Uchū Kenpō no Tsukaite Pachakamakku Jū Ni Sei): An arrogant, megalomaniacal, and sociopathic alien martial artist and master of Cosmic Kenpō (宇宙拳法, Uchū Kenpō) who appears exclusively in the crossover film Juken Sentai Gekiranger vs Boukenger. His ancestor, Pachacamac I, previously fought Brusa Ee and gave him two jewels that would unlock the secrets of Cosmic Kenpō, with the Geki and Rin Jūken schools each claiming one of them following the Geki-Rin Rebellion. Pachacamac XII sought to claim the jewels to become invincible and conquer the universe, but was sealed in a statue on planet Isla. In the present, Boukenger member Sakura Nishiori inadvertently frees him, allowing him to possess her and force her teammate Satoru Akashi into helping him retrieve the jewels. Along the way, Pachacamac XII brainwashes Rio, Mere, and Baka to assist him, but runs afoul of the Gekirangers and remaining Boukengers, with Akashi and Jyan Kandou joining forces to weaken him and free his thralls. Pachacamac enlarges and flies to the moon in an attempt to destroy Earth, but the Sentai teams, Rio, and Mere pursue and kill him with Ultimate DaiBouken wielding Zubaan, GekiRinTohja Wolf, and GekiFire. Pachacamac XII is voiced by Yasunori Masutani (増谷 康紀, Masutani Yasunori).

The trademark for the series was filed by Toei Company on September 19, 2006.

In a final message to the fans, producer Hideaki Tsukada (塚田 英明, Tsukada Hideaki) cites various items he thanks for inspiring the series, including the past Sentai series and the essayist Tatsuru Uchida (内田 樹, Uchida Tatsuru) for teaching them about manga that they reference in the series. The manga mentioned are Fist of the North Star (北斗の拳, Hokuto no Ken), Dragon Ball (ドラゴンボール, Doragon Bōru, 45), Slam Dunk (スラムダンク, Suramu Danku, 31), Judo-bu Monogatari (柔道部物語, Jūdō-bu Monogatari), Ranma ½ (らんま１／２, Ranma nibun-no-ichi), Shigurui (シグルイ), and others. They also thank Sammo Hung, Jet Li, Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh, and Yuen Biao for allowing them to use their names.

Special DVD

Gyun-Gyun! Kensei Great Athletic Meet (ギュンギュン！拳聖大運動会, Gyun-Gyun! Kensei Daiundōkai) is a special DVD given out with the December issue of Terebi Magazine. After their latest win, the three Gekirangers find the Kensei stretching for their annual Kensei Great Athletic Meet. Jyan, wanting to win the gold medal and a year's supply of Terebi magazines, joins the Red Team (Sharkie, Bat, Elehung) to go against the White Team (Xia Fu and the Master Triangle). With Retsu as judge and Ran as moderator, the contest starts with the dunking match, as clips of the training results of Bat Li, Elephung, and Sharkie are shown, ending with the white Team winning by default. In the second match, a horseriding match, the White Team had the advantage due to the Master Triangle's teamwork, with clips of their training results shown. But due to the banana Gorie dropped prior to the match starting, the Red Team wins. In the tie breaker, a one-on-one Sumo match between Gorie and Sharkie. But neither refuse to lose, using the Double-Double Clone Fist to take their fight outside SCRTC. Sharkie's attacks have no effect until he managed to use Gorie's strength to make the win for the red team. Despite the White Team's losing, Xia Fu steals the magazines, with the red team and the Gekirangers in pursuit. After Xia Fu is disciplined, seeing he needs more training himself, the DVD ends with a clipshow of the series from Lessons 1 to 35.

Nei-Nei! Hou-Hou! Hong Kong Decisive Battle

Movie Edition Juken Sentai Gekiranger: Nei-Nei! Hou-Hou! Hong Kong Decisive Battle (電影版 獣拳戦隊ゲキレンジャー　ネイネイ！ホウホウ！香港大決戦, Den'eiban Jūken Sentai Gekirenjā Nei-Nei! Hō-Hō! Honkon Daikessen) aired alongside Kamen Rider Den-O: I'm Born! starting August 4, 2007. The plot revolves on the Gekirangers, Rio, and Mere fighting the school of Mechung Fu (銘功夫（メカンフー）, Mekanfū) to prevent them from destroying Hong Kong. The events of the movie take place between Lessons 9 and 10.

Gekiranger vs. Boukenger

In Juken Sentai Gekiranger vs. Boukenger (獣拳戦隊ゲキレンジャーＶＳボウケンジャー, Jūken Sentai Gekirenjā tai Bōkenjā), the Gekiranger team meets up with the team from GoGo Sentai Boukenger. The DVD was released on March 14, 2008, for rental and March 21, 2008, for purchase. This is the first team-up to be in wide-screen, appropriate as Boukenger and Gekiranger were the first Sentai series to be themselves shown in wide-screen. The events of the movie take place between Lessons 35 and 36.the film is dedicated to Machiko Soga who died in 2006

Go-onger vs. Gekiranger

Initially scheduled for DVD release on March 21, 2009, Engine Sentai Go-onger vs. Gekiranger (炎神戦隊ゴーオンジャーVSゲキレンジャー, Enjin Sentai Gōonjā tai Gekirenjā) features the return of Hiroki Suzuki, Mina Fukui, Manpei Takagi, Riki Miura, Sotaro, Hirofumi Araki, Yuka Hirata, Naoki Kawano, and Kazue Itoh reprising their roles as Jyan Kandou, Ran Uzaki, Retu Fukami, Gou Fukami, Ken Hisatsu, Rio, Mere, Long, and Miki Masaki from Juken Sentai Gekiranger. The story features the Three Gaiark Ministers and their Nunchaku Banki (ヌンチャクバンキ) teaming up with the last remaining member of the Rin Jū Hall (臨獣殿, Rin Jūden), Meka (メカ), practicer of the Rin Jū Tortoise-Ken (臨獣トータス拳, Rin Jū Tōtasuken) who is after the golden orb that Long was sealed in. To defeat their common foes, the Go-ongers, the Go-on Wings, and the Gekirangers team up with the revived Rio and Mere to fight the new evil team and stop them from releasing Long.

On December 6, 2008, several of the cast members of Go-onger announced on their blogs that there is going to be a second Go-onger movie. The next day, Toei announced on its Go-onger website that the film was going to be Go-onger vs. Gekiranger, and that it was to commemorate the 15th of the Super Sentai V-Cinema VS Series, having started initially with J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai vs. Gorenger in 1978 and revived annually with Chouriki Sentai Ohranger vs. Kakuranger in 1996. The film was released to theaters on January 24, 2009.

Kyuranger vs. Space Squad

Uchu Sentai Kyuranger vs. Space Squad (宇宙戦隊キュウレンジャーVSスペース・スクワッド, Uchū Sentai Kyūrenjā Bāsasu Supēsu Sukuwaddo) is a V-Cinema release that features a crossover between Uchu Sentai Kyuranger and Space Squad. Aside from the main cast of Kyuranger, Yuma Ishigaki and Hiroaki Iwanaga (Geki Jumonji and Shu Karasuma in Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie), Yuka Hirata (Mele), Mitsuru Karahashi (Fuwa Juzo in Samurai Sentai Shinkenger), Kei Hosogai (Basco ta Jolokia in Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) and Ayame Misaki (Escape in Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters) return to reprise their respective roles. The V-Cinema will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on August 8, 2018.

International Broadcasts and Home Video

• In its' home country of Japan, Toei Video released the series on DVD throughout 12 volumes while it was still airing from August 3, 2007 to July 21, 2008. Each volume includes four episodes, with the last volume holding five episodes.
• The series was limited to only airing in Asian regions outside of Japan, as most international regions have aired the Power Rangers adaptation, Power Rangers Jungle Fury instead.
  • In South Korea, the series was dubbed in Korean and aired in 2008 under Power Rangers Wild Spirits (파워레인저 와일드스피릿) and aired on several TV channels. (Champ TV, Anione, Anibox and Cartoon Network)
  • In the Chinese-speaking world, Both Mandarin (Taiwan dialect) and Cantonese dubs were produced and aired in Taiwan and Hong Kong respectively.
    • In Taiwan, the series aired with a Taiwanese Mandarin dub on November 1, 2009 until October 3, 2010 with all episodes dubbed, airing on GTV.
    • In Hong Kong, the series aired with a Cantonese Chinese dub on March 14, 2010 (a few months after Taiwan aired the Taiwanese Mandarin dub) on TVB Jade until March 6, 2011 with all episodes dubbed.
• In Thailand, the series was given a Thai dub and Rose Media Entertainment holds the rights to the TV license. It aired on Channel 5 and also on the Cartoon Gang Program starting on October 17, 2009 until September 18, 2010 with all episodes dubbed and showcased. It was also released on home video by them.
• In the Philippines, this series was popular on TV5 from 2010 to 2011 with a Tagalog dub.
• The series was released in Vietnam with a Vietnamese dub by Phuong Nam Film Studio under Geki Ranger - Siêu Nhân Mãnh Thú on VCD and DVD in 2010. All 49 episodes were released, split into 24 VCD volumes and 12 DVD volumes respectively.
