The main headquarters are located in Madrid (Spain), while it also has 3 smaller offices in Mexico City (Mexico), Lima (Peru) and Montevideo (Uruguay).[2] Spain assumes the majority of the financing, contributing around 60% of the budget.[3]

Enrique V. Iglesias (2005–2014)[4] and Rebeca Grynspan (since 2014)[5] are the two officials who has served as Secretary-General of the SEGIB.
