Der innere blaue Bereich ist 580 oder (bei einem breiteren Rand) 572 mm breit, die Lichtkantenbreite beträgt 10 mm. Das Zeichen wurde in dieser Form 1992 eingeführt. Das Zeichen trug von 1992 bis 2017 die Nummer „209-20“. Mit Einführung des Verkehrszeichenkatalogs 2017 lautet es auf die Nummer „209“ – ohne Zusatz.
