Description
English: VIPER (Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover) is a planned robotic lunar rover by NASA, that will be tasked to prospect for natural lunar resources, especially water ice within a permanently shadowed region near the lunar south pole. The VIPER mission is part of the Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) meant to support the crewed Artemis Program. Launch is expected in late 2023.
