Description
English: Two men in military dress, wearing a cuirass with pendant leather straps, a cloak and greaves. The Lydian inscription runs: “Payava, son of Ad[…], secretary of A[…]rah, by race a Lycian…”. South side of the second tier of the tomb of Payava. Marble, ca. 375–360 BC. From Xanthos (modern Günük), Turkey.
Français : Deux hommes armés, portant une cuirasse à franges de cuir, un manteau et des cnémides. Inscription en lydien : « Payava, fils d'Ad[…], secrétaire de A[…]ah, de race lycienne… ». Face sud du second niveau de la tombe de Payava. Marbre, vers 375-360 av. J.-C. Provenance : Xanthos (actuelle Günük), Turquie.
