Summary

Description

Tropical Cyclone Hape was moving in the southern Indian Ocean east of Madagascar on Feb. 12, 2003. This true-color image of the storm was captured by the MODIS instrument on NASA's Terra satellite at 0540 UTC. Hape was a strong storm, with maximum sustained winds of 70 knots (10-minute average) and a minimum central pressure of 965 mb.

This image was cropped from a much larger image. Please note that the high-resolution scene provided here is 250 meters per pixel.
