Darrell Neuman (24 February 2007). FOTW - Hawaii: historical flags. "...the flag unofficially represented the Hawaiian Monarchy and was displayed during the rule of King David Kalakaua who reigned over the Kingdom of Hawaii from February 12, 1874 until his death on January 20,1891."
