Description
English: The Dolichopteryx longipes is the only vertebrate known to use a mirror in its eye. The Barrel shaped eye consists of the main eye (2) which conventionally uses a lens (c) to focus light from above on the retina (d) while the secondary eye (1) uses a reflective crystal (b) to focus light from below on the secondary retina (a).
