Description
English: The boat was commanded at that time by Oberleutnant zur See Kurt Fimmen and operating with the 1st S-Boote flotilla based in Ijmuiden, Holland. The S-26 was sunk along with the S-40 and S-72 by Soviet fighter-bombers on August 19, 1944 in the Romanian port of Sulina.
