Description
English: Rough stuff This craggy piece of hillside is due to a localised area of Precambrian Lewisian gneiss in the surrounding quartzite. The link between what you can see and the nature of the rocks is described in an excellent combined guidebook and 1:50,000 geological map 'Exploring the Landscape of Assynt', published by the British Geological Survey, 2004, on sale at Inchnadamph.
