Results of the June 2008 referendum on the Twenty-eighth Amendment of the Constitution of Ireland. As the referendum progressed, it became apparent that there were some minor problems with the map and one major one (the boundary between Kildares North and South). The Electoral (Amendment) Act was checked and as a result the following corrections were made:
The map is now, to the best of my belief, accurate as per the Irish election of May 2007. Because of the dearth of GFDL sources, many of the corrections were done by eye using textual sources, rather than transcribed/traced directly from maps. Because of this and the limitations of the Microsoft Paint software, it is acknowledged that the map is not precise to the level of +/- one pixel. Any Wikipedian/Commons user who may be able to do better is strongly urged by myself to create a better version. Readers wondering where the mouth of the Shannon is may wish to note that the northern boundary of Kerry North constituency extends half-way across the Shannon estuary, where it meets the southern boundary of Clare constituency. A similar situation pertains with Clare and Limerick West.
