Description
English: Double portrait of woman and child. From internal evidence relating to the Disney family, the child has tentatively been identified as Frances Mary Disney, daughter of John Disney (1746–1816) and hios wife Jane Blackburne, who married Thomas Jervis (1748–1833). N.B. Partial labels and inscriptions on the stretcher suggest that the sitters are members of the Disney Family, the child possibly being Frances Mary Disney, who was born August 7, 1775 in Swinderby, Lincolnshire, England. Her name and birth date are recorded on a partial label on the stretcher.
