La leyenda dice que llegó a estas tierras tras ser rechazado por su padre Telamón y fundó un asentamiento con el nombre de Helenes y después de eso se casó con Helena la hija del rey Putrech quien en ese momento dirigía el ejército griego hacia la ciudad de Atenas.
