DescriptionNew Pedestrianism Street Plan by Michael E. Arth.jpg
English: This is one of the seminal drawings for New Pedestrianism I did in 1999. It shows how vehicles and pedestrians are separated into two different networks. Tree-lined pedestrian lanes that allow for slow moving bicycles are in front of the houses, while tree-lined vehicular streets are at the rear. A guest house and garden gate makes the rear street attractive, and not like an alley. New Pedestrianism can be applied to any density, but the style of the houses in this example is common to traditional neighborhoods. A neighborhood or small town like this would be called a "Pedestrian Village."
