Deutsch: U-Bahnhof 34. Straße–Penn(silvania)-Bahnhof an der IND Eighth Avenue Line. Er besitzt Bahnsteige für alle vier Gleise, die aber so angeordnet sind, dass die Locals je einen Seitenbahnsteig haben und die Expressgleise sich den Mittelbahnsteig teilen. Diese Anordnung soll verhindern, dass richtungsbezogen umgestiegen wird. Der Grund liegt darin, dass der Bahnhof die fünfthöchsten Fahrgastzahlen im Netz aufweist.
English: 34 Street–Penn Station station at the IND Eighth Avenue Line. There are two side and one center platform serving all four tracks. However, local trains stop at the sides, whereas both express tracks are sharing the center platform. This was done to discourage cross-platform transfer because passenger volume here is the fifth highest all over the system. |
