Description
English: Leaves the Delta Shipbuilding Co. Yard, New Orleans, Louisiana, where she was constructed, on 26 September 1942, following delivery by her builders. In February 1945, she became the first American merchant ship to sail through the Dardanelles, in Turkey, in four years. She was en route to Russia at the time.
