English: Relief plate, of a bronze fibula. Ivory, 8 cm. Sparta, sanctuary of Artemis Orthia. Initial Archaic, 660 AEC. National Archaeological Museum, Athens (A15502). Representation of "Masters of Birds" (often "Masters of Animals", Potnia Theron, and identified with the goddess Artemis Orthia, but anachronism is possible) on an ivory plate, ex-voto found in her sanctuary. The "goddess" is represented holding waterbirds and wears a traditional hairstyle at that time.
