Description
English: Mountaineering in Canada; Mt. Forbes' summit; the highest peak within the confines of Banff Nat'l Park and the 7th highest in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Doug on rope. Note the thin yellow-ish Prusik rope at the ready for self-extraction from dangers like crevasses. Also note the coiled rope which allows rescue of another rope team member. Finally note his glacier goggles, which can have both a darkened transparent colour for shading and protection throughout, and for the top and bottom ~40% of the lenses, a mirror finish, which combine to protect the eyes while seeing the maximum. and leather protectors blocking the sun from coming in from the side (brands and models vary as to features, of course).
