Summary

Description Outline sketches of Didus broeckei and Didus herbertii. Both are based on 17th century sketches which are now both known to show Red Rails, but Schlegel was unsure where the rails depicted were from, and speculated that the second was from Rodrigues and the first from Mauritius. Due to this confusion, Frederick Frohawk used the second outline as basis for his 1907 restoration of the Rodrigues Rail.
