Purpose of use

Illustrate relevant imagery to the background and development of the album. This particular image was agreed on by Manson and Helnwein to be the album cover until Manson changed his mind at the last minute and chose a noncontroversial image in order to satisfy Interscope Records and retailers such as Wal-Mart. Previously, as on Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death) and Mechanical Animals, retailers have banned sales of the group's records due to their covers.
