Summary

Description
English: Animation showing schematically the phenomenon of magnetostriction - changing magnetisation changes the physical dimensions of material. As one dimension expands due to a changing magnetic field, the other one contracts in order to preserve the volume. The red-blue elements show the magnetic domains, grey arrow - direction and value of external magnetic field.
Polski: Animacja wyjaśniająca schematycznie zjawisko magnetostrykcji - zmiany magnetyzacji powodują zmiany wymiarów zewnętrznych materiału. Jeśli jeden wymiar się zwiększa, to drugi musi się zmniejszać celem zachowania objętości. Czerwono-niebieskie elementy oznaczają domeny magnetyczne, a szara strzałka kierunek i wartość zewnętrznego pola magnetycznego.
