Purpose of use

Lead image to illustrate the article on the Haidbauer incident, in which Wittgenstein allegedly hit one of the children, knocking the boy unconscious. The incident became the subject of debate, and the image has some historical importance because of that. For a discussion about it, see William Warren Bartley, Wittgenstein, Open Court, 1973. The image is between pages 96 and 97 in the 1994 paperback edition.
