Escena narrada por Ovidio (Metamorfosis, libro VI) que muestra el engaño del dios Júpiter a la ninfa Antíope. Ninfa de gran belleza es seducida por el señor del Olimpo metamorfoseado en un sátiro. Pierre representa el momento del engaño inicial, cuando Antíope se abandona en los brazos de Júpiter. Destacan la plasticidad de las figuras y las gamas de colores pasteles que elevan el carácter sensual de la composición. Esta obra es compañera de Diana y Calisto (P03217).
