English: The Stanhope Hall, formerly the Town Hall and operated by the council who had offices at the site, this building was built in 1901 as a 'Drill Hall' and saw use by the military in both world wars. It is now a community owned amenity and used for a variety of functions. The single storey attachment to the side of the hall was an indoor rifle range.
