English: Northern Bohemian Glassworks Master Martin Friedrich the Younger and his Family, presumably painted by Elias Hille in 1596. During the 16th and 17th centuries, as a result of the Friedrich family’s development of their glass factory in Oberkreibitz (today Horní Chřibská) Bohemian glass art enjoyed its first heyday.
Deutsch: Votivbild in der St. Georgskirche zu Oberkreibitz (Horní Chřibská) in Nordböhmen, vermutlich von Elias Hille 1596 gemalt. Es zeigt die Familie des Glashüttenmeisters Martin Friedrich des Jüngeren, einem Stifter dieser Kirche. Oberkreibitz war die führende Glashütte in der Zeit des mitteleuropäischen Renaissanceglases. Martin Friedrich der Jüngere avancierte damals zum Glasmeister des brandenburgischen Kurfürsten und des kunstsinnigen Kaisers Rudolf II. |
