DescriptionForemarke Hall (Repton Preparatory School) sign - geograph.org.uk - 1176940.jpg
English: Foremarke Hall (Repton Preparatory School) sign. Contrasting with the decaying 18th century wall behind, this modern sign with its vivid blue background, announces that Foremarke Hall is Repton Preparatory School, providing day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 3 to 13 years old. The thought of 3 and 4 year old toddlers being boarding school pupils rather makes the mind boggle, but no doubt any children that young are day pupils.
Over the hundreds of years since the Domesday Book of 1086 was compiled, Foremark has been spelt many different ways. For the last 200 years or so it seems to have settled down as Foremark, though sometimes in earlier documents you can find it as Formark. However, the school has chosen to spell it Foremarke. 1176893
