Beschreibung des Wappens: „Das Wappen der Stadt zeigt das schwarze Kap (alte Landmarke zur Kennzeichnung der Insel für Seefahrer), das über zwei blauen Wellenbalken auf einer silberfarbenen Düne steht.“
Beschreibung der Flagge: „Die Farben der Stadt sind schwarz/weiß/blau. Die große Stadtflagge zeigt das Stadtwappen auf drei blauen und drei weißen Längsstreifen. Die kleine Flagge besteht aus zwei Querstreifen mit je drei schwarzen und drei weißen Würfeln und drei blauen und drei weißen Längsstreifen.“
