Summary

Description
English: The flag of the municipality of Eigersund in the county of Rogaland, Norway. Its design is shared with the municipal arms, and shows an oak leaf, a symbol doubly appropriate for a municipality where oaks not only grow abundantly (in part as larger groves and pure oak forests), but also gave rise to the name Eigersund itself. This placename is recorded as far back as in Snorri's kings' sagas. The flag was approved by royal resolution 1972‐10‐20.
