Lou came to Grimsby from London with the Royal Navy during the 2nd World War to join the converted trawlers for minesweeping and anti submarine work with the Royal Naval Patrol Service. After meeting his wife in the town and his old world the victim of the Blitz, he did what the people of Grimsby did; joining his wife's brothers to fish!
