Summary

El Conchitas (born Elena Bottici on February 14th, 1973) is one of London's leading female, electro-alternative DeeJay. She is also a guitarist, a singer and a music producer. Most famous for her residency at London's super club Popstarz, she became popular in 2011. She regularly DJs across London in venues such Roadtrip Bar, Casino Royal, The Dublin Castle, 21 Century Noise and her acclaimed indietronica session at Zigfrid Von Underbelly in London, and several clubs in Europe and USA.

Other DJ appearances includes Bestival, Summer Rites, Torture Garden, Sexy Circus SideShow, The Propaganda, The Box, DIe-Freche Muse, Dalston Super Store and several fashion launch parties including Marc Jacobs and most recently CK1 (Calvin Klein) exclusive VIP area at The LOVEBOX festival.

Also known for her back to back DJ set with Marcella Puppini (The Puppini Sisters) , Jeff Automatic (Transmission London), The Secretary (Torture Garden) and Tommy Tunrtables (Popstarz). El Conchitas is known for her topless Dj set.

Between 2003 and 2009 El Conchitas worked as executive manager for F&G Management, working alongside artists such as Robert Miles and Dimitri From Paris. In 1999 she left the company to peruse a career as a rock artist. After a spell as a singer and guitarist for several rock bands around the London live circuit , in 2003 El signed a recording contract with London based independent record label Delicious Recordsl and started performing under the name of Elena. In 2006 she released her critically acclaimed debut album Glimpse.The single "Butterflies" successfully entered several international indie charts . She received a nomination for best female artist at The Glasswerk new music awards ad toured the globe with a four piece band.

In 2008 she released a second studio album Painted Gold, which did not match the success of Glimpse. She also pulled out of a European tour.

In 2009, El formed the electro-indie duo Conchitas with guitarist Ed Sonsino, by 2010 they had written and produced a new album, which was released as limited edition only. By the end of 2009 El had started Djing extensively around Shoreditch and Camden Town in London, quickly becoming one of the most wanted female DeeJay in the scene.

In 2011 El joined Shoreditch Radio as a presenter for Conchitas Cabaret (alongside burlesque starlet Roxy Velvet) and From Dusk Till Dawn. In february 2012 she became the presenter of DIY Radio friday night dance show, HOT JUKEBOX.

In 2012, El Conchitas remixed The Puppini Sisters single "Diamond's Are a Girls Best Friend", rapper`Enel's single Hanger Pains and Marcella and The Forget me Nots "She Hero" .She is currently working on new productions and traveling with the "Popstarz 2012/13 world tour".

El Conchitas is of Italian nationality, lives in Hackney, London. In April 2008 she gave birth to a daughter, India Bottici.

Openly bisexual, in 2007 she entered a civil partnership which was dissolved in 2010. She's an experienced horse rider a tennis player and has several tattoos.
