Object history
English: Malsch is a very old settlement. It had been the seat of the Counts of Malsch upon Waldenfels. Since 1318 it belonged to the Cistercian Monastery of Herrenalb, since 1535 to the Counts of Württemberg, since 1604 to Baden-Durlach and finally since 1622 to the Margraviate of Baden-Baden. The village had proper seals already in times, it belonged to the Cistercians. The first known print, displaying the current pattern, is proven in 1471. Otto Hupp's painting was based on a court seal from 1696, displaying the plough share with two roses in both upper corners. The counterchanged tinctures are based on patterns from the 18th century. The arms were simplified and got the current tinctures in 1900.
